Router Basics

This router is web bassed so type in 192.168.0.1 into a browser address bar. After changing anything just press "apply". The router user name is set from the factory as "admin" and the password is surprise surprise "password".

Service Issues

All in all the netgear modem will auto detect all settings. All the customer should need to do is type in their user name and password. Some performance and transfer issues on the wireless transfer do exist and a firmware upgrade is for the best. The firware can be downloaded from the following site:

General Information

The Netgear DG824 provides a hardware firewall, 4 port router, wireless port and ADSL modem all in one. The browser bassed configuration is as below. To upgrade the firmware just download the file to your desktop and press on "Gateway Upgrade". You will have a browse option and will be able to locate the file and upload the new firmware.
